The inception of the Syro Malabar Youth Movement (SMYM) was duly sanctioned by the esteemed Synod of Bishops, thus endowing it with the official mantle of the Youth Movement for the Syro Malabar Church. This historic moment was enshrined on the auspicious date of August 30, 2014, marking a significant milestone in the annals of our faith.

The overarching vision that propelled the creation of SMYM was the consolidation of the various youth movements that flourished within the church, thereby unifying them under the venerable banner of the ecclesiastical institution. Within the hallowed precincts of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, our dedicated SMYM members labor assiduously towards the realization of this noble objective. They are ably shepherded by the discerning hand of the Assistant Vicar, receiving sagacious counsel from the Vicar of the church. Furthermore, the esteemed presence of a Reverend Sister from the FCC St. George Convent provides invaluable support to the Reverend Fathers in the execution of these multifaceted endeavors.

SMYM assumes the vanguard position in orchestrating an eclectic array of activities and competitions, including but not limited to the mellifluous resonance of Carol singing, the heartwarming exuberance of Christmas programs, the cultural tapestry of the Onam festival, and a multitude of such enriching initiatives that reverberate not only within the hallowed confines of the church but resonate far and wide throughout the expanse of Idavaka
