Mathruvedhi is a spiritual fellowship of Mothers of SyroMalabar Church abound in strong communion and interaction, working united for the upliftment and growth at all levels viz., personal, parish, diocesan and international Catholic church. Standing close to church, Mathruvedhi ensures the participation of mothers in promoting Christian values and Catholic faith in their homes as well as in the society as a whole. Currently there are 213 active members in Mathruvedhi of our parish.

Our Mission

Rooted in Catholic faith, Mathruvedhi members execute their activities relentlessly in accordance with the mission entrusted by Jesus Christ.
Mother is the light of the family and therefore all Mathruvedhi members strive to inculcate the virtues of patience, perseverance, prayerful disposition, and a deep faith.
Mathruvedhi offers a platform for personal growth through prayer sessions, seminars, medical fraternity sessions, cultural and sports activities, celebrations etc.
Mathruvedhi promotes a collaborative atmosphere so that all members contribute individually and significantly to achieve excellence in all missions.
Apart from mothers, married women of all ages are part of the organization. It is highly commendable that young mothers greatly benefit from the wisdom and advice the older members offer while it provides a venue for the latter to have meaningful fellowship and continue their contributions to church activities even in their twilight years.
Mathruvedhi develops leadership qualities, talents, knowledge and interpersonal skills.

Activities

With Mathruvedhi members getting involved in all activities where a mother can help, church becomes more maternal by nature. Office-Bearers (Rev. Fr.Vicar, Animator Sister, President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer) and Executive members from each of the 10 family units of the parish are chosen to serve for a three-year term. Executive meetings are conducted prior to any event to discuss about the agenda and is then put forth in the general body meeting which is held once every month, for approval. The account transactions of Mathruvedhi are audited annually.

Mathruvedhi prioritizes spiritual activities through prayers, – chain rosary, adoration, Holy Qurbana and abstinence prayers for those who seek prayer support, thereby the spiritual life of the members and their families get enriched. Mathruvedhi members are also actively involved in church decoration and food preparation during all feast days and celebrations. Mathruvedhi members carry out acts of benevolence like visiting and serving the sick, burying the dead and orphans, giving medical and financial aid to the needy. Apart from all these, Mathruvedhi provides opportunities to the members to exhibit their talents in different programs organized by the church.
